Additive Manufacturing for Investment Casting Workshop Series 

This workshop series offers a comprehensive understanding of additive manufacturing techniques and their application in the investment casting process. Beginning with an exploration of basic concepts, participants progress to specialized topics like FFF, SKA/DLA pattern printing, wax and PMMA materials, and gating and rigging practices.

Robotic CAD to Path Programming for Casting Finishing Workshop Series 

This workshop series offers practical lessons on utilizing offline programming for robotic arms.  These lessons include instruction on creating a variety of robot programs using industrial robots to finish a cast metal part. Attendees will be able to follow along and receive feedback on creating their own robot cells and programs.

Development of Real-Time Process Sensors for Use in Metal Casting Equipment Workshop Series 

Learn about the Internet of Things (IoT) and explore its possibilities.  In this workshop, participants will take away the skills needed to build their own process sensors and display the results on their desktop using a web browser.

  • July 10th, 2024, 12:00PM-1:00PM - Session 1: Getting started with a Raspberry Pi 
  • July 17th, 2024, 12:00PM-1:00PM - Session 2: Installing MQTT to facilitate data acquisition 
  • July 24th, 2024, 12:00PM-1:00PM - Session 3: Developing flows with Node-RED
  • July 31st, 2024, 12:00PM-1:00PM - Session 4: Expanding with Arduino-based microcontrollers 

Participants will be responsible for sourcing their own materials to participate in the workshop (approx. $130). A detailed material list will be sent to all participants who register. Participants will require access to an unrestricted wifi network and a computer monitor with an HDMI port.

Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) Workshop Series 

Our Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) 8-part workshop series was held in the Spring.
