Cedar Valley Additive Manufacturing Users Group December Meeting

The Cedar Valley Additive Manufacturing Users Group will be having its first annual Holiday Potluck and Project Showcase on December 14, 2017. Attendees are asked to bring a dish to share and any projects they have been working on that include additive manufacturing. Demonstration of a user’s “pancakeBot” will be making cornbread cakes with honey for all in attendance. We look forward to seeing you there.

9th Graders Tour Additive Manufacturing Center

Aside from research and development, undergraduate and graduate student learning, and additive manufacturing work, a frequent occurrence at the Additive Manufacturing Center in Waterloo, IA is tours. Often it is for industry groups, political officials, and especially frequent, students.  Last week, 200 9th graders toured the facility and three graduate students (Nathaniel Bryant, Kip Woods and Craig Ertle) were on hand to give tours and demonstrations to showcase the center's capabilities when it comes to 3D printing. And the Metal Working Badge Goes to...Boy Scout Troop 38

The University of Northern Iowa Metal Casting Center (MCC), in conjunction with UNI American Foundry Society (AFS) Student Chapter, hosted a metal working workshop for the Boy Scouts, Troop 38 from Monona, IA on Saturday, November 4th from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm.
